the musical search for a name….^_^
my elder sister that day called me all the way from uk to ask for the name of an instrument that we used to play in our primary school years…
this instrument is played by all…i mean some part in our history we would have played it before…its like a small Piano and u insert a tube to the side and blow it while playing…u know the one the music teacher used to ask some of us to play , while the others play the recorder…
well the funny thing is nobody seems to remember what its called…i ask my other sisters and they hav no idea…i hav a vague idea that some time in my past…i think i had known its name before but now i really can’t recall…kinda sounds like harmonica…but couldn’t be rite? harmonica is…another instrument…
so, i went and search google for instuments, music dictionaries and look thru all names that could be or should be that instrument…but alas, haha, ah ah…no success…i’m even finding it difficult to categorise it…is it a keyboard? a wind instrument? or is it like my fren and my sis suggest…a percussion? hmm….
in the end, even my younger sis start calling her frens one by one to ask for the instrument name…and its already quite late at nite at the time…haha kinda funny…reminds me of the time i lost my turtle and we kept asking everyone in the neighbourhood whether they seen it or not, until my neighbour’s son got so into the search that he starts going to his frens house living nearby and shouting thru the gate, asking them for news of ze..lost..turtle…:>
anyway, her frens didn’t know the name too…and i got kinda fad up with google search too….so we end the name game for the nite…;p but the next day, when i ask my frens in class…one of them told me its name…a melodian or is it spell with an O…MELODION…hmm…i think i better double confirm it with her…
i hope the name is correct…well, at least we now finally give a name to the instrument…yup and hopefully in time we’ll all still remember the name…:)
